Popcorn Sales
Kernels of Information
When can we begin selling?
Your scout can start selling popcorn now. He can sell door to door, sell to your neighbors, your co-workers, family and friends and/or sign up to sell in front of Henrys or Trader Joes during our designated booth days. (See your den leader). He can also send emails to friends and family with his assigned order code. The popcorn will be shipped directly to them and your scout will get credit.
Where can I get the order form?
All scout families received a Trails End order form in the mail. An e-mail was also sent on 07/30/08 with an attachment for an order form you can print. You can also print the 2008 brochure at the bottom of this page.
When do all the orders have to be submitted?
All orders must be completed and submitted to your den leader or to Brigette Johnson by Monday, October 27th, 2007.
When will our customers receive their popcorn?
The product delivery is the 3rd week in November. An email will go out with notification as to when to pick up your orders from your den leader. This will provide enough time to deliver your popcorn product to your customers for the holidays.
How do I get my scout motivated to sell?
There are prizes and incentives galore for your scout to win!
From Trails End:
- Every scout who sells just one product will receive a 2008 Popcorn Patch.
- Once your scout sells $100 or more of popcorn (level 2), he can choose from 4 prizes offered by Trails End. (Go online to trails-end.com to see all prizes offered).
- There a total of eleven (11) levels each with prizes for your scout to win.
- If your scout sells over $1000 worth of popcorn, he will be invited to an Anaheim Ducks special event.
From Pack 727:
- The prizes are even better this year. We will be giving away gaming systems, BikeBoards and parties to the top selling dens and scouts. (More info to come).
Who should the checks be made out to?
Have your customers make out their checks to Cub Scout Pack 727.
This is my first year for selling popcorn. Where can my scout get pointers for selling?
If you haven’t done so already, both you and your scout should go to www.trails-end.com and take the online interactive training session. It will instruct your scout as to what to say, what to bring and how to be safe.
Additional Information:
- Focus on Scouting instead of popcorn, i.e., “Would you like to support Scouting by purchasing popcorn today?” “Would you like to help us go to camp by purchasing popcorn today?”
- Pack 727 will receive 31% of all the money raised during this fundraiser. This money is used to support or Pine Wood Derby, Summer Camp, etc.
- Remember our military. If your scout’s customers do not wish to purchase popcorn, have your scout suggest that they make a $25 donation to the military and the popcorn will be shipped overseas. (See order form).
